Portsmouth Ohio Attractions

Portsmouth Ohio is full of rich history and beautiful landscapes.  What better way to spend the weekend than relaxing in gorgeous Southern Ohio.  The place is full of antique shops, exceptional restaurants, and historical sites.

The “Floodwall Murals” are a magnificent sight that brings together the history, culture and beautiful landscape of the small town of Portsmouth Ohio.  The murals took a grim but necessary part of Portsmouth and turned it into a master piece.  It is the largest known work of art done by a single artist.

Besides this great piece of art, there are fantastic restaurants, attractions and accommodations for every type of traveler. Portsmouth is a perfect place for a little get-away from the big city.  An accommodation such as The Riverview, a bed and breakfast, is a quiet and relaxing place wonderful to sit and enjoy nature.

There is plenty to see in Southern Ohio.  Local antique shops, craft stores, restaurants, and a lot more!  The food in this small town has enough flavors to compete with major cities.  Some great places to eat are the American Restaurant, Dick’s Pizza, Fred’s Restaurant and Hickies Hamburger Inn.  After getting a bite to eat see all the history the town has to offer.

The 1810 House, Southern Ohio Museum and the Phillip Moore, Jr. Stone House are just a couple of attractions that make Portsmouth Ohio great.  It has its own brewery set in the heart of the city and many other places to see.
