Attractions in Martin’s Ferry Ohio

Sedgwick Museum – 627 Hanover Street, Martins Ferry – Operated by the Martins Ferry Historical Society.  Houses memorabilia from much of Martins Ferry’s past.

Walnut Grove Cemetery – North Fourth Street, Martins Ferry – burial place of famous pioneers including Ebenezer and Elizabeth Zane and soldiers of the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, Mexican War and the Civil War.  At its entrance stands the Betty Zane Memorial tribute to the heroism of Betty Zane in the siege of Fort Henry in 1872.  It was erected in 1928 through the contributions of the school children of Martins Ferry.

Walking Tour of Churches – Many of the historic churches of Martins Ferry are located on what was once knows as Church Street (currently Fourth Street).  These majestic structures were and continue to be a place of gathering for the faithful of the region.  The walking tour was established in 2010 and is scheduled in the late fall.
